Nuturna Neuroturna Review
Nuturna is a supplement company that has been in business since 2009. Nevertheless, their main website lacks an “About Us” and the small paragraph answering “Why Nuturna” on the bottom of their pages doesn’t say anything unique. There isn’t much to say about the company but we do have some things to say about their supplement, Neuroturna. It was our second pick for a sciatica supplement for a reason.
We were happy to see that this product includes most of the recommended ingredients for a sciatica support supplement. It is manufactured in the USA and is backed by a satisfaction guarantee. Keep reading for an in-depth analysis of this product.
Is Nuturna Neuroturna Effective?
Based on the formula, we do expect this product to be effective to some degree. It contains 5 recommended B vitamins for relieving nerve pain and promoting healing: B1, B2, B3, B9, and B12. However, we feel they got a bit overexcited about the B vitamins and included dosages that were much larger than necessary. For example, it provides 225 mg of Vitamin B1 per serving of 3 capsules and it is recommended to take two servings a day. For reference, our top pick provides 25mg of Thiamine and the RDA is less than 2 mg. While a higher dose may help replenish a deficiency, Nuturna seems to have gone over the top.
This product also provides 75mg of Magnesium per 3 capsule serving, 150mg per day. This is a good ingredient and a normal dosage for helping to prevent nerve pain, though the dosage is smaller than our top pick, and the product doesn’t provide Magnesium Glycinate at all.
Next, this formula includes 1500mg of ALA which is a huge serving size and the ingredient and dosage that Nuturna chose to advertise on the front of the bottle. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) has been shown to support nerve healing so it is certainly an important ingredient for neuropathy. However, the dosage could have been smaller if they combined ALA with R-ALA, which has been shown to improve absorption and raise ALA levels more effectively.
While the remaining ingredients may help to relieve sciatic pain, we feel that with a more thought-out formula, Nuturna wouldn’t have needed to include them and the daily serving size of 6 capsules could have been reduced.
One of the best indicators of how well a product will work is the feedback from people who have used it, so we turned to actual customer testimonials to see what people really thought about Neuroturna and whether they would recommend it or not. We found that the majority of customers who wrote reviews were satisfied with this product, so it is likely an effective supplement.
Is Nuturna Neuroturna Safe?
In general, this product is marketed as safe, though it may cause some gastrointestinal upset. As a general rule, it is always recommended to speak to your health care practitioner before taking any new supplement, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have any health conditions, or are taking other medications.
Summary
Nuturna Neuroturna contains many of the right ingredients but we felt like this formula lacked any thought in regards to absorption. Some ingredients are provided in dosages that are larger than necessary – a more bioavailable form of the ingredient could have been utilized or in the case of ALA, combining it with R-ALA would reduce the amount needed in order to experience results. Additionally, BioPerine® could have been added to improve nutrient absorption. Overall, this product is likely to be effective but when getting results requires taking 6 pills a day and excessive amounts of vitamins, we know what we’d prefer.
